Today I regained two of three lost friends. It has been almost four months since I have seen them both and it was really driving me nuts: My Ibanez S540 (a sweet ass electric guitar) and my BR1180 ( a sweet ass digital 8 track portastudio). Unfortunately, my sweet ass large diaphram studio vocal mic didn't survive a tragic accident in which all three were nearly destroyed.
I can't remember if I posted this story before and don't feel like looking. A few months ago I had all my recording equipment and my favorite guitar set up in my living room because I was using all of them for all most two weeks straight every chance I got while my daughter was traveling with her mother (my ex-wife).
On the night my daughter got back, I picked her up and she had a lot of bags to bring in. She was really excited and was chattering up a storm when we got back to my apartment. She went upstairs ahead of me with some of her bags. As I was walking up the stairs she came down stairs crying. I asked what was wrong and she just cryed more and said she didn't mean to mess things up.
I forgot to tell her that I had my equipment set up. She walked in thinking of how the room usually was set up and walked right into my monitors which tipped over into the table holding my recorder that hit the floor, knocked over the mic stand holding my sweet ass mic that knocked over my guitar which fell into the recorder, breaking its headstock clean off and smashing the recorders display and chasis. The table somehow fell on top of my mic and totally smashed it.
My poor kid had no idea what she was walking into a I forgot to say anything about it because she was excited telling me about her trip. So I only beat her once (joke). Seriously, I think the poor kid felt worse than I did.
But now two of my favorite items are back. Now I just have to save up for another sweet ass large diaphram condensor vocal mic.
