Right, I'd like to say this is gonna be more focused than the last post, but that ain't gonna happen. Firstly, gigs. Last week I saw:

* Diskreet, Origin, Misery Index and Necrophagist at the Cathouse - this should've been a great night, but it was hampered by a poor sound, really muddy, and all I could hear were bass drum and snare. Origin were still shit hot though.
* Saviours and Mastodon at ABC - again, the sound could have been better. Saviours were forgettable and some skinhead was being a dick in the pit, but it was a good setlist from Mastodon.
* Rotten Sound, Incantation and Malevolent Creation at Soundhaus - hell yeah! Great sound, great night. I left before Rotting Christ came on as I was tired and went to my friend's flat and we watched Amityville 2. Seriously, such a dodgy movie. It was such a good night in all though, MC blew me away.

Also this week, read Death Note v10 (very good, but the earlier ones were better) and The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami. Again, this could've been much better, it's probably the only Murakami book I've read that I didn't love, or at least get me thinking.

I managed to hear prerelease copies of the new Unsane and Pelican albums (Visqueen and City of Echoes, respectively), and they are seriously good. City of Echoes is gradually working it's way into my subconscious, there's some very catchy stuff on there.

Apart from that, I've been doing fuck all. I'm just kicking it in uni at the moment, listening to Jucifer and avoiding doing any work. Also, does anyone have any recommendations on stuff to watch/read/listen to? I'm pretty open minded so I'll try pretty much anything.
