Quote of the day from a judge: God, I hate speech! James Sanders

Judged speech today. It was quite an experience to say the least. Ive never judged speech before. Not that I was nervous by any stretch of the imagination, just different. Had a good time actually being on the other side of the fence. I used my networking skills to ensure that Im at least hired for a couple of tournaments in the near future. One of which will take me to Grand Forks in about two weeks.

The good news on my car is, of course, that it was done for only 100.dollars and that I got my financial aid first edition on Friday. Very cool indeed, Mr.Bigglesworth. Bought a couple of clothes and I might be heading toward fargo or something for a good time shortly. I hate fargo, but Im in an odd mood so I kind of want to hang out and rock it til the wheels fall off. That and, oh yeah, I have some actual money. But all of that is secondary to this overwhelmingly strange sensation Ive felt all day. I woke up early, made it to the bus, rode to Shanley, went to the judges lounge, judged 3 rounds in a row, and then took a look in the mirror. I didnt recognize the man on the other side.

That man is someone else, that man is the stereotypical looking college high-school speech judge. That man is studying for some inane test he has on Monday morning at 8am. That man has interesting stories of drinking in the dorms. That man has friends all over the campus. This man doesnt eat alone very often anymore in the caf or Viking I. This manthis particularly sexy but slightly chubby hunk of man is not who I was expecting to see in the mirror. I do not know him, but if you have any information on his whereabouts, there IS a reward out if it leads to capture. I do not know this man, at least not well. Im just curious about what interesting adventures hell get into next.

Oh yes, and nin.com updated with a track listing for the new album and a teaser-sound clip.

Song lines that keep going through my head today:

One great big neon distraction, I have a suggestion to keep you all occupied

Who are you but my reflection?
