What is it about the finger-in-the-mouth thing that makes me so weak in the knees everytime I see it?
Such a seductive, innocent-yet-naughty, come-hither type pose, that probably more than any other gesture, be it hair tossing, hair twirling or the touch of the leg, means "Let's go! It's on!".
Is it somehow a symbol -- the finger representing the penis, and the suggested act of fellatio -- in some delusional male fantasy of both ego and shamelessness, that in time she'll be sucking some dick, hopefully yours? I don't know.... I don't really think so. But maybe....
Still, I'd bet that if you polled half the women here, a majority of them would find the finger-to-mouth pose seductive as hell too, despite the lack of having a penis.
So what is it then? I theorize that the mouth is naturally a seductive area -- a nexus where visual, tactile, auditory, olfactory, and taste stimuli are generated together to form one of the most intense areas of sexual arousal. I'd go so far as to say that I find it more appealing than either the breasts or vagina. And given that the finger just happens to point to the mouth in this pose -- the finger being a very erotic part of the human anatomy in and of itself, given its many suggested functions, it doesn't hurt
But here's the catch, and the thing that seems to throw my entire theory out the window: the minute a guy does the finger-to-the-mouth pose, it just comes off as funny, and not sexy at all. Again, I'm not the expert here. I'd love to poll a sample of gay men and straight/bi women, does this turn you on?
Mind you, that's a picture of Chris Farley. But imagine the hottest boy you can doing that. Is it sexy? If not, then my theory doesn't hold water. Neither does the fellatio theory hold water if gay men refute the sexiness of a man doing the pose.
So what is it then??? Maybe it's just best not to question it....
