Good thing I don't leave things till the last minute.

I finished my taxes today, after spending my afternoon adrift in a sea of old bills and bank statements. Managed to write off enough junk to go from having to pay $4500 to having to pay $800, so not too bad. But bleh, I've had enough with thinking or writing about money for one day.

It was tough to sit inside today... it had to have hit 20 degrees (C) here today, the kind of totally sunny friday that brings people out to play. I did get to walk around quite a bit later in the day, to the bank and up Commercial Drive to the tax place. Not the best destinations but getting there was all the fun.

I had a craving to hear Sweet Jane (Cowboy Junkies version) for some reason... Kazaa'ed it and listening to it now. Makes me sad/happy. I like it.

I love Kazaa (well Kazaa lite)... When you search for a song, so often you'll find esoteric versions of it by other artists.

I always thought Sweet Jane was a Velvet Underground song originally, but it looks like it's a Lou Reed song covered by VU. Also found Radiohead and Bjork covers of it... listening


Ouch. I just stood up to get something, walked three steps, slammed my shin into my black coffee table, hopped around in pain, and promptly forgot what I got up for in the first place. Black furniture + darkness = bruised shins. Yes, I walk into my coffee table about once a week.
