As the sun crawled across my naked leg, I realized I was half out of the sheet, more worried about being intertwined with you than with staying under the covers. When I opened my eyes I didnt move. My face was against the back of your neck. I could smell you hair before I opened my eyes, a reminder not to move. I didnt want to wake you. The sun peeped through the window, trying to get a glance at you, but you were all mine today.
Good morning you said slowly. Good morning I replied. Silence for another ten minutes, but we were both awake. You could feel the soft hair on my chest against your naked back, and you felt warm when I exhaled against the base of your neck. I didnt see it, but you smiled for a moment, still stuck between your dreams and being awake, but I knew exactly where I was.
You reached back and put your soft hand on my thigh, running your fingernails through my leg hair, and you felt me smile. We stayed like this for two hours before we got up. You slowly rolled out of bed, and my limp arms tried to hold you there, but the shower was calling your name. I mustered enough strength to open my eye and watch you walk naked across the room.
