cruise was awesome. ate a lot. slept a lot. enjoyed hanging out with my brother whom i really dont see nearly enough of as well as my cousin mike and his wife. bless her for being able to put up with the three of us together without killing us or cutting mike off.
to quickly summarize...panama was very disappointing. i dont want to assume the entire country is the same as the port, but if it is, its shitty. that seemed to be the consensus with most of the people on board, though my brother and i at least left the little compound and ventured into the city proper. unfortunately there wasnt really a lot to see in colon. bummer. that and it was hot as balls. not surprising since we were about 15 degrees from the equator.
costa rica was much better. my brother and i walked around for a few hours (mostly searching for mota) did a bit of shopping before heading back to the ship because i was starting to become dehydrated. all in all costa rica was pretty cool.
last stop was belize. i fucks with belize. for real. belize is fucking cool. food was good, people were pretty friendly and it was a lot more accessible since the national language is english. id like to go back there at some point.
also...almost ended up hooking up with this hot girl from italy. didnt do it because i didnt bring any protection. before you ask why i didnt bring any, ill tell you that people who dont drive dont need auto insurance and leave it at that. i get laid seasonally. just seems kinda pointless to buy some when theres a 99% chance i wont need any. anyway, it was interesting. ive kinda crawled into my shell with no intentions of getting involved with anyone for about the last 4 years. i am extremely picky and only really get my head turned on rare occasions. more often than not i see a girl, think, "hey shes hot," and 5 minutes later ive forgotten. im rarely attracted to someone (as opposed to finding someone attractive...yes theres a difference).
anyway, for the first time in a long time im thinking about actually being open to the idea of dating. dont know if it would really involve me doing anything differently, i still hate bars and clubs and im still an uncharismatic bore with no sex appeal but hey, maybe i wont turn away a free meal. i dunno. my mind isnt really made up but i am thinking about it and thats something.
so the good news is i dont go back to work until tuesday night. the bad news is....i go back to work tuesday night. is it spring yet?

All these rules were put into effect way before I got here and my job is just to enforce them, even when I think they are dumb myself.
