continuing coverage in the 2009 Ronald Reagan Memorial Villain Invitational Tournament!

round 1 is over! the last 8 to proceed...
Bill the Butcher destroys Carter Burke
Patrick Bateman slips past Jack Torrance
Max Cady crushes Mallory Knox
Travis Bickle over Daniel Plainview
Anton Chigurh squeaks by Keyser Soze
John Doe upsets Wah Sing Ku
Francis Begbie eliminates Jame Gumb
Bill blanks Hedy Carlson

apparently it was a good day to be in a Scorsese movie!

this of course means we move on to round 2! and here is the first half.

rules stay the same
1. you pick the winners
2. no weapons allowed, just fists and wits.

and we are off!

1. Hannibal Lector - Silence of the Lambs vs. Catwoman - Batman universe

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Hannibal Lector

Catwoman

Analysis: Lector looks to continue his march toward repeating as champion, but Catwoman is nobodys bitch. she can more than handle her shit.

2. Captain Spaulding - The Devil's Rejects vs. Joker - The Dark Knight

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Captain Spaulding

Joker

Analysis: this may be the battle of the clowns, but it aint going to be funny. both have obscene thresholds of pain. Spaulding undoubtedly has the strength advantage but Joker always has a trick up his sleeve.

3. Angel Eyes - The Good, the Bad & the Ugly vs. Dexter Morgan - Dexter

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Angel Eyes

Dexter Morgan

Analysis: we got two professionals here. i cant even begin to disect this one. it such an odd matchup.

4. GoGo Yubari - Kill Bill vs. Ozymandias - Watchmen

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
GoGo Yubari

Ozymandias

Analysis: heres another one thats hard to call. both of them are very skilled in hand to hand combat. Ozy likely has the edge in brains but will it be enough?

5. Mr. Joshua - Lethal Weapon vs. Frank Booth - Blue Velvet

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Mr. Joshua

Frank Booth

Analysis: this ones going to be wild. polar opposites here. Joshua is a cool headed professional while Booth is a sadistic rapist loony.

6. Middle Eye - Apocalypto vs. Mickey Knox - Natural Born Killers

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Middle Eye

Mickey Knox

Analysis: the question here is this; whos tougher? the trained warrior or the natural born killer? Cujo isnt the only animal in this tournament.

7. Boris the Blade - Snatch. vs. Cujo - Cujo

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Boris the Blade

Cujo

Analysis: just grab the popcorn, this is going to be a bloodbath.

8. Sheriff John Quincy Wydell - The Devil's Rejects vs. Otis B. Driftwood - The Devil's Rejects

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Sheriff John Quincy Wydell

Otis B. Driftwood

Analysis: we have here a RRMVIT first. two competitors in the same work fighting each other. i guess we can call this one a grudge match. not for the faint at heart.

kavana:
1. Hannibal. No way catwoman can make it out of this one. I keep trying to imagine it and I keep failing.
2. Joker. The image of Captain Spaulding's grin being wiped right off his face is easy to conjure
3. Angel Eyes. Just seems too right
4. Ozymandias. He's illustrated, so he can do what he wants
5. Joshua. This is one more instance in which the cool pro will out
6 Middle Eye. The cat won't give up till it's finished, even if he can't make it through the next round
7 Cujo.

quietlythere:
1) Hannibal Lector. There is no contest here.

2) Joker. The best villian to come to screen in a long time!

3) Angel Eyes. It's fucking Lee Van Cleef. Nuff said.

4) GoGo Yubari. Yes!

5) Mr. Joshua. He may have to visit Endo to get his wounds looked at afterwards, but he will prevail.

6) Mickey Knox. Badass don't die.

7) Boris the Blade. Come on.

8) Otis B. Driftwood. His track record in this tourny over the years has been proven.
