summer clinic is ridiculous.
if i didnt know that after college, being a dental hygenist will never be THIS stressful and ridiculous, id drop out right now...i dont care that id be $80,000 or more in debt for student loans already with nothing to show for it..
We are expected to get through 3 patients + more for compts.(like exams), but the three patients have to meet certain qualifications...one has to be ASA II, which isnt a problem, i got that already. Then someone with moderate to severe calculus, and one with periodontal disease to some exent...and we have six weeks and if we dont happen to know someone with these qualifications already, who can just take 2-3 FULL days off of work (8:15 to 3:15 with an hour lunch break) we have to rely on COMMUNITY PATIENTS, who are crazy, amusing, can be nice, etc etc but the one thing they are NOT is reliable!!! Yesturday both of my patients for both appointments cancelled on me!and actually the pm patient didnt show up..AGAIN this is the 2nd time she did this!!and i only gave her a second chance bc shes a recall patient and i know she has perio at least!!
now i pretty much have no patients to fill the requirements, and about 3 weeks to finish this shit regardless..which will be difficult if i have finish one person with perio and one with the calculus..just so all pray i find someone with both and they can come in as much as i need them too...and who is reliable..and not on 1,000 medications and has 1,000 health problems........its just not going to happen
On to more positive news..I had a great time in maine this weekend!it was relaxing and fun...i just hate that i had to go back to school. when i have a little more time, ill post some cute pics i took with my phone at the cabin.
