And it's sort of like reaching a state of Nirvana for most writers and some artists...eventually you have this neon light vision, but the skies breaks and you feel about to shatter and eventually you burst and the world seems a hundred miles away...

I think that's often why we revere them. They take those chances we don't with our minds and our lives. Yet we get the pleasure of their work. While often they live in squalor and obscurity.
Being a celebrity might have it's good points... very few though. unless your the type who likes to be watched and compared to other celebs. From what I've seen backstage it's kind of limiting.
