There are so many things I have missed about this nice weather. I walked from my car to my apartment yesterday with bare feet for the first time in months. It's so nice to feel the earth under my feet again. I've also been able to sit out in the sun on the porch and watch the chickadees come to the bird feeder.
There are a few woodpeckers I've seen in the tree between my apartment building and the Bowdoin college dorm next door. I haven't seen any of them in a few days, but I can hear one of them drumming on a nearby tree early in the morning, and in the early hours of the evening. Camille and I spent at least 10 minutes in the window one day last week trying to figure out where he was.
I can't wait for our lawn to be less soggy. I'm ready to play outside, and start throwing dinner on the grill.
