I came home some unidentified people on my lawn. When approached the man made a hasty retreat to his own yard (accross from mine) and I asked the woman standing in the street if I could help her. She responds by telling me I need to mow my lawn. I of course ask her why. She responds by telling me its been too long since I last mowed it and everyone else in the area mows their lawn. I tell her that doesnt really tell me why I need to mow my lawn.
The grass that we all mow is native to England. It was brought to North America to replicate Englands verdant fields. This day of all days is to commemorate our independance from England.
Apparently this woman does understand the concept of independance.
This woman didnt bother asking me if there was a reason I have not mowed my lawn. Its possible that my lawn mower is broken, that I cannot afford the gas, that I am ill or there is somthing going on in my life that is preventing me from tending to such matters. She didnt even bother to ask me nicely. She ordered me to do what everyone else does because everyone else does it. Apparently "united" meens somthing entirely different to her.
Sadly, I think the irony is lost on her. I wonder what its like to have a life so devoid of meening as to be posessed of the time and energy to concern oneself with such trivialities under the false pretense of community.
Somone should have told her at a young age that you can attract more with honey than you can with used motor oil..

Ah they belong to what I call 2.4 lawnmowers culture. It fills their lives 'cos it's an easy answer to the real questions.

And totally agree with your comment in SG Sex Toys re: warmth of a radiating body versus plastic - you have that one down right kiss
