i would like to forgo this opportunity for my usual cynicism and an anti-government tirade for a rare burst of something (hope?)

from every block its the crackle and pop
people in Hollywood really love their fireworks
this year i decided to stay home
after a good American made flick
it was off into my Thai Town streets to roam
kids and parents and couples out
staring up into the purplish summer night air
and everywhere someone had something to say
it seems it was all screams and booms
yells and whistles and close your eyes and you
might be frightened that it was bombs and doom
but open gazes to the bright sparkles and flashes and you know this was
just an American holiday
kids playing and adults hold the toys
noise fills the city and connects one block to the next
the strangest form of talking to one another yet
from every block its the crackle and pop

I know you are right and that is sad. Why do guys need to be in a "power" position? Why can't you both just like each other and that's the end of it?
