It is all too depressing,, getting ready for the holidays, and not having the weather be chilly in the slightest.... having spent all of my previous days 'up north', this is quite a shock! I want my pea coat with the fur trim back, my lovely scarves that my mother made for me, and mittens - so many mittens! I want to lay in bed on lazy Sundays and watch the snow flakes dance by the windows, then watch as they continue downward to create a soft blanket which will cover all of the ugliness of the city streets. I want to snuggle and wear sweaters and drink hot tea, bake so many pies and cookies and have rosy cheeks and stomp in slush and hold my arms out and twirl around! It is so tepid and humid here - this perpetual dampness hangs heavy in the air.... weighing down our bed clothes, pillows and towels. My upper lip should be collecting ice crystals, not beads of sweat. I miss my home.
