made a fire in the middle of a river last night. never thought i could do that but the water was so damn low you could just walk right across. some of us fished while the rest of us took turns finding things to torch. dry leaves are the prettiest things to watch burn. curling up as they turn to ash, whereas sticks almost seem to melt. the wind make the sparks fly about 20 feet and then die in the water. gorgeous.
