I fired-up the boiler tonight. Winter is officially coming.

Yay.

I have Big Block Fever. Prognosis: grave. There is no known cure nor rationale to it. I just gotta have a big block Chevrolet V8 for Faithful Steed.

(Those of you whose eyes glaze over the moment I start rambling on about automotive stuff need not click the spoiler tag. Just smile & nod or shake your head. It gets pretty thick in there.)

Today was a banner day. On my way to work, the tread separated from my left rear tire. It didn't completely peel off--oh no--instead it peeled halfway off and then beat the living hell out of the fender & wheelwell. So now whenever I drive over some debris on the road, the inside of my tailgate gets peppered. Joyous.

Tonight I picked up a new end table. Needless to say, this throws my living room furniture arrangement out-of-whack, so I must rearrange everything.

(No, I do not need any assistance. I am perfectly capable of supplying the requisite one-way furniture-moving conversation: "Move it over here. Now move it that way a bit. More. More. Too much, go back.")

Once again, I am up way too goddamn early on a Saturday. This time, instead of the sun stabbing me in the eye, it was a dream that woke me up. Some set-up is in order:
