It's nine o'clock & I'm listening to Percy Faith. Time for the Weekend Update.
Saturday--Got up at an obscenely early hour because that bastard ball of burning hydrogen was STABBING ME IN THE EYE. To make the best of it, I had breakfast & worked on getting ready for the MSU vs. UofM game party a half-mile down Pontiac Trail.
A few hours later, I finally made the trek. I arrived in the parking lot just as Kapt_Dai did. Since he was bearing food, I escorted him to the apartment of funkmunky & Eireann. Our host was already three sheets to the wind, so he was mighty thankful for food.
psychobillydakid stopped by a few minutes after Kapt_Dai & I, so now the quadfecta of non-football-watching people was complete. Throw in Enigma248 & we had a pentfecta. Ahh, what a game...
Once the final was announced, it was decided to go get more beer & food. So saying, we went nowhere until the Minnesota-Penn State game was well underway & Eireann got home from work. Kapt_Dai, FM, and myself hijacked her car and off we went!
The roadtrip started on Main St. in Novi. We spied a Japanese market that may or may not have Asahi, so in we went. They didn't have Asahi.
However, there was a crushed Pimp Juice can next to a Magnum XL wrapper in the parking lot, so I thought that was pretty funny.
Somehow, some way, we ended up on 10 Mile near Novi Rd. LIQUOR STORE!! SCORE!!! In we went. I picked up some He'Brew, Oberon, and BrenJger. Ahh, honey liqueur...
(Thanks to penguinscheme for introducing me to it.) I also ordered a bottle of Cynar. Now my liquor cabinet is properly stocked: cheap sloe gin, an artichoke aperitif, and that glorious honey liqueur.
Once back at the apartment, the hunt for a place with steak pizza began. The closest Domino's (oddly enough within spitting distance of that liquor store) wouldn't deliver six miles away, so a custom Dolly's pie was ordered.
Around eight, Movie Night began. Not Another Teen Movie was playing on Comedy Central, so that's what we started watching. However, it was the edited version. Since our hero (moi) not only owns the proper unrated version & also lives just a short distance away, he volunteered to procure said DVD. Wixom PD had pulled someone over on my road, so that made for a few cardiac palpitations.
In the course of the night, MelDarko, Crisystar, BrokenSk8, Enigma248, FM's friend, and Sorcha dropped by. Much, much later, MrNiceGuy, Habi, and two of their friends also dropped by. Much enjoyment was had.
Sunday--The party wound down around 2AM. I made the oh-so-arduous trip back up Pontiac Trail to my bed. Ahh, sweet, lovely sleep.
Woke up at 11AM with the sheets wrapped around my neck again. I think the bed's out to get me.
Being Recovery Day, I went driving around Novi for no good reason. Well, that and I felt like being a consumer whore. Now I finally have a cable for my camera & a cable to connect my computer to my stereo. Ripping LPs, here I come!
So here I sit, ignoring American Dad, writing in my journal, and contemplating what that goddamned orange stain is in my tub. I think the apartment above me has a major water leak since there's a big yellow stain on the ceiling. Bless the Village...
