Something screwy is going on with my landline. As you can see, I'm quite capable of roving the internet, therefore my DSL is A-OK. However, I have no dial tone--just a low hum that varies its pitch in time with the traffic on Beck Rd.
Weird.

my phone does that every day. usually i unplug it for five minutes or so and the dial tone returns. it's been doing this for years, i suppose i should call the phone company.
