I just spent the past 22 hours rebuilding the lower half of my truck's front suspension. Parts that have been together for 38 years would rather stay together, not matter how much cajoling/hammering you may do.
Of course it doesn't help when the book says one thing yet your truck has a completely different setup. That two piece steering knuckle sure threw me for a loop.
On the upside, I now have new springs. New springs + new lower ball joints + new idler arm = smooooooth steering & a much better ride height. 3" more, to be exact.
Tuesday the rest of my parts come in. Upper ball joints, tie rod ends, and a pitman arm. That's another, oh 30 hours of work right there.
I've said it before & I'll say it again: There is no way in hell I could make a living on my back.
Christ Almighty am I tired...
