Last night, I dreamt I was a semi-famous scientist working on a facsimile of the Stargate. EvanX & Oninotaki were semi-famous scientists too. We three and about 17 others had been banished to an annex while our quarters were fumigated for some unexplained critters. Why that is pertinent I cannot say, but that's how the dream started.
I also rescued a transdimensional baked potato from its certain demise on our planet. I didn't know that at the time; I only knew we 20 semi-famous scientists were supposed to be on the lookout for two TD beings. One was described as "bivalve" and the other as...something else. I can't remember exactly what our boss told us, but when we caught it, it looked like a 3' chicken finger.
Why were we supposed to capture a TDBP & TDCF? I have no idea. I'm sure there was a completely logical explanation in my dream, but I have forgotten it. I do remember taking the TDBP back to the annex, showing it off to my horrified coworkers, and then watching bemusedly as it ate the TDCF behind the coffee table.
The details are even fuzzier past that point. I know I was decorated by the TDBP's leader as a Hero of the S.P.U.D., there was a "turn all the lights on in the ziggurat" scene, and trapping the ever-growing TDBP in a giant water tank. I'll have to write more of this down at work.
