I had a good Saturday. For starters, I went to the Crown Jewel of Washtenaw County to hang out with an old flame & her dog (adorably dumb slobbering beast that she is). The cap of the evening? Watching the new Hairspray. There was some concern I would not like it, but as I told the old flame, "You had me at Christopher Walken." John Travolta as Edna Turnblad was the icing on the cake.
About an hour after arriving home, I was in the mood for another flick, so I loaded up my P2P copy of Live Free or Die Hard. It was...a Die Hard flick. Not a great one, but a nice escape for a while. I miss the "Yippe-kay-yay motherfucker" though.
Those who decreed the fourth installment would be PG-13 should be drawn & quartered by Prius.
After Die Hard 4 ended, I saw it was only midnight. I needed one more movie to round out my night. The pick? A movie I first saw in CEH youth group, Benny & Joon. I saw this movie many, many years ago. I really didn't remember much of the movie aside from Johnny Depp being in it and the rather-tame nookie scene (our pastor was chagrined when that popped up), so it was neat to see how good the rest of the movie was. I also learned a better way to make grilled cheese! Now, where did I put that iron...
Since I am finishing up my final beverage for the night, er, morning, I sign off now so I may slip into dreamland. If these three movies happen to meld together in my sleep, you uncaring masses will be the second to know. (I'll be the first, of course.
