Today was a Research Day. Since it was a lovely warmish day, the Faithful Steed & I decided to exploring after work. As an added bonus, I got to see how the Faithful Steed weathered the winter. $300 dash to the rescue!
Here's the stats as recorded on eastbound 696 near the Lodge/Telegraph interchange. Faithful Steed was turning roughly 3400 RPM @ 70ish MPH:
Oil pressure--27 psi (a mite low)
Water temp--195F (acceptable)
Oil temp--210F (also acceptable)
Amps--0
Volts--14.5
Vacuum--20" of Hg
Once I exited the freeway into Southfield's stop'n'go traffic, both the water temp & the oil temp jumped to 210 & 230, respectively. As an added bonus, oil pressure increased to 25 psi @ 2000 RPM. Go figure.
Yes, I am a dork. Sue me.
