Tonight is the night. Yes, after another eight hours of staring at a bright light & playing with hot liquid metal, I'm going to do it.
I am going to rip my lilliputian (but growing) LP library into my burgeoning iTunes library.
Wish me luck.
Ripped so far:
Allan Sherman--For Swingin' Livers Only!, Peter and the Commissar, Live! (Hoping You Are the Same)
Soundtrack to Pete Kelly's Blues (narrated by Jack Webb)
Side note--is "rip" even the proper term? "Import" just sounds stuffy, but "rip"? Hmm...I'll have to think about this.
Secondary side note--WAVs are some huge files. 210MB for one side of one LP!
Luckily I have the technology to make them smaller, better, faster.
Tertiary side note--Thanks to the inquiries of AgentofOblivion, I can now spool my degrading cassette library into iTunes. I have no intention of doing that since 95% of my tapes are available as either CDs or MP3s, unlike most of my LPs.

I wont be at the iLounge, but I could send a copy with someone. Let me know if you decide.
