Today was a Research Day. Since it was a lovely warmish day, the Faithful Steed & I decided to exploring after work. As an added bonus, I got to see how the Faithful Steed weathered the winter. $300 dash to the rescue!

Here's the stats as recorded on eastbound 696 near the Lodge/Telegraph interchange. Faithful Steed was turning roughly 3400 RPM @ 70ish MPH:

I also have a new shirt!

I am such a consumer whore...and loving it. biggrin

{added at update}

Speaking of being a consumer whore, today I took the Faithful Steed out to eat. $63.55 & 21.48 gallons later, he was full. I guess the Faithful Steed was hungry. The best part is I could've fed him yesterday, but nooooooooo, I...

It has been suggested by one much prettier than I that I should dedicate a journal to that most glorious of dairy foodstuffs, cheese. Being a sucker for anything a cute brunette suggests, I will gladly acquiesce to her wishes.

Cheese. Cheese is good. The more stinky, the better (with exceptions, of course; the most notable being Limboigeh). To quote my father (who was quoting...

Oof...I gotta stop posting while frustrated.

I'm sure I screwed up last night, but I don't think it was quite THAT bad. I gotta keep a tighter leash on that portion of my brain.

On that note, it's a nice day so I'm off to drive around my corner of SE Michigan. First to the Post Office, then to an auto parts store, and then...

A little poem for the masses:

I once knew a man named Art
Who so loved to fart.
And his hair he did part
With the business end of a Cuisanart.

Thus ends the poem for the masses.

Please remember to tip your waitress, folks.

(No, I ain't drunk. Just tired. A little giddy too.)

The week, she progresses.

In other news, I'm sick of inventory. My Sicilian lackadaisical view on organizing ("Hey it's around here somewhere; I'm sure I'll find it eventually.") has trumped my Teutonic need for ORDER and DISCIPLINE.

I think I shall continue reading Ringworld. Yes, that's a bang-up idea alright.

{update}

Or not. There are days I wish I hadn't left Colorado...

Y'know, I hate the ebaymotors redesign partially because they made the "reserve not yet met" so small and inconspicuous. It seems like a calculated effort to fool people into bidding when they otherwise wouldn't.

That's still a kickass truck though.
evanx:
I s'pose that's not the appropriate thing to say, eh?

Today is Inventory Day. I recently upgraded my inventory from an AppleWorks 6.2.9 spreadsheet to Delicious Library. Unfortunately, AppleWorks & Delicious Library do not communicate well, so I have to transfer everything by hand. Ugh.

The count as of 1:51PM EDT?

--29 books
--28 DVDs
--215 CDs (includes whole albums downloaded from iTunes)
--5 games

I should have bought that Bluetooth barcode reader... blackeyed

In honor of today's book shopping activities, I decided to dust off my old Yahoo! Messenger ID. So if there's some creepy dude with the handle "putzomag" knocking on your door, don't worry, that's just me.

I have got to stop nodding off on my couch...

In other news, the Faithful Steed (hereafter known as the Rolling Ground Problem) has been upgraded with a $300 dash. Pics for the uncaring masses will be coming forthwith.

In other news, uh, stuff is happening. And my dreams are getting really, REALLY weird. I wish I could remember the details, but let me tell...

SYH was supposed to be out on the town this evening. He even had his Green Shirt of Death all laid out--wrinkles shaken out and everything.

But no. Some shmuck had to park a $39.95 U-Haul across my rear bumper, thereby blocking me in for the night. Who the hell moves into an apartment at night? I've seen neither hide nor hair of the culprit(s)....
