just found out that a friend of mine was seriously injured in a car crash. his name is brennan graves, he is a fellow musician, used to come to our house parties and watch my old band play. he's bit of a celeb in bg. he does an acoustic set, and until recently playing out has been his sole source of income. he gets 250 or more a gig, and now they don't know if he'll ever play again. supposedly he fell asleep at the wheel and ran into the back of a parked semi. it ripped a large part of his arm off. i hear the doctor is going to try to remove some muscle tissue from his leg and try to patch up his arm. we have had our disputes and share of words in the past, but have since made up for them. i feel so bad for him. he really is a good guy, and talented musician. i hate that it takes something as drastic as this to humble people, me included. i don't know what i would do if i couldn't ever play music again. i wish there was something medically i could do for him. i would gladly donate blood, or even muscle tissue if i could. some other local musicians have picked up the dates he had scheduled to play and are giving all the money to him. there is going to be a benefit concert june 21st i believe to help raise money for him. the info i got was that there was like 40 bands in on it. they will be playing at three bars, state st. pub, tidballs, and jt's. the event is from 3pm til 2am. 10 cover charge for all three clubs, and all the money goes to his medical expenses. so please come out and support him if you can. and keep him in your prayers.
