Art Flik: Crazy Heart
the movie is very good, and Jeff Bridges deserves the Oscar for embodying the best and worst impulses of the creative artist.
i'm a big fan of hardcore honky tonk music and a fan of movies about the creative process, tho this was probably more a story of creativity, dissolution and recovery from the slow death of addiction, played with aplomb.
like i said, Bridges was great, his stage presence during music sequences spot-on perfect, tho he's no Haggard or Jennings in the vocals department (maybe a little closer to Billy Jo Shaver and other great songwriters okay sangers)
nice casting of Collin Farrell as pretty boy modern country star.
i loved my little movie and little night in the little big city
my hotel was right next to the movie theatre, and across from Tommy's Joynt, a real old fashion bar/steam table combo pack

so if anyone is looking for a movie and pastrami, mash potatoes, beans and beer kinda date in San Francisco
i'm your huckleberry
