Stampede came and went and was kind of a let down. I didn't have one crazy drunken night and didn't go on any good rides. Although I did get to see K-Os which was incredible! The sound sucks on the Coca Cola Stage but hey, I got to see K-Os! Fuck yeah!!
This Monday I took my parents as a joint mother's and father's day present to Willie Nelson!! Yeeeee-haaaaaw! I LOVE Willie, it was incredible to see him live! And you know, until his hobbly walk around the stage he really didn't seem that old...Tuesday, last minute, I was able to get a couple of Black Eyed Peas tickets for that night. They were at Whistler last year for the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival so I saw them there, outdoors, very small venue. It was interesting to see them at the Dome. Say what you will but they really put on a great show and are amazing musicians. Their band is equally talented, if not more so. If you get a chance, see them. Who cares if they're all popular right now
I have been having a fabulous time longboarding, found a great hill a short drive away with lots of room to improve and not many cars. Still, I had my first real crash last week. I was riding with Coolmelon and somehow we ended up smashing into each other head on; I got slammed into the pavement and ended up with one mean bruise (I have never seen one that black, with bright red in the middle - and trust me, I've had my share of nasty spills during snowboarding season) and a head injury. Ouch. I am going to get a helmet as soon as I get back from Argentina.
Speaking of which, the trip is just over two weeks away. I am giddy with excitement. It will be a few days in Buenos Aires, then a week of riding. I can't believe it, in just three weeks I'm going to be able to get back on my board!!
Did I mention I got my sternum pierced? I love it. This is it, right after it was done.
