I was all set for this summer to be a complete letdown. Thought I'd spend the entire time severely depressed and waiting for winter. NOT the case! It's been two weekends and they've been FUN! Did a little bit of light hiking, some off-roading, but best of all, I GOT ME A LONGBOARD!! And it's FUN! It's my answer to a summer hobby comparable to riding. I like it infinitely better than regular skateboarding. The board is way longer and bigger, the wheel base is wider and longer, and wheels themselves are big and soft, which all make a huge difference. With the old board I basically spent all my time watching the ground ahead of me for fear of hitting a rock or a twig and being catapulted off the board and into the pavement - which hurts (let's face it - I SUCKED at skating - needed way more practice!) This puppy glides right over any of these things and allows me to skate, to CARVE, without worrying about flying off my board. And I go FAST. So, this summer is NOT going to suck, in fact, it will be the amazingly exciting summer when I become a kick-ass longboarding pro

Speaking of skating, I rented Dogtown and Z-boys. LOVED it. Inspirational, truly. I want to buy it. Watch it if you get a chance.

I also had the opportunity to watch motorcycle Diaries. If you haven't seen it yet, YOU NEED TO. It's awesome.
