My vacation was great. I wish I could just spend all my time on vacation. Highlights:
Seeing Dad.
Drinking beers with Dad.
Seeing Grandfather.
Drinking beers with Grandfather and Dad.
Seeing my Second Cousin Thrice Removed Judy.
Telling Judy she's my favorite person in the world as lavish quantities of ice cream, peaches, and other goodies are heaped on me. Judy is an amazingly awesome hostess. She really is one of my favorite people in the world, and at the time, was my favorite person in the world. I committed no sin aside from gluttony.
Sucking up point mutations with Judy and my Aunt Angela.
Talking about how much being an Engineer is a pain with Angela. She's a building engineer (heating/cooling/plumbing kinda thing).
Finishing Quicksilver. If I could meet a modern day Eliza I'd go all Daniel Waterhouse over her.
Visiting the Dogfish Head Brewery. They've almost doubled their capacity, from 20000 barrels in 2004 to being on track for 35000 barrels in 2005. I'm glad to see them succeeding, because Dogfish Head imperial india pale ale contends strongly with Guiness for my love when it comes to beer. They're fairly evenly matched now.
Getting a case of 60 minute and 90 minute imperial IPA each, for way cheaper than I could anywhere else.
Seeing my cousin Pat, who makes me feel good about my own level of alcohol consumption.
And finally:
Not touching a goddamn computer for 8 days straight. Sometimes it's good to take a break.
