I'm not sure that I told my car crash story here. I was driving home from work on one of those nights when it was raining so hard. I took Laurel Canyon because it was the shortest path between points A and B, but I should have avoided the canyon in weather like that ... I knew my car doesn't like water much. So somehow, going only 25 miles per hour, I spun out and hit a curb sideways HARD. My wheels were pointed in different directions, so I knew I wasn't driving away from that mess. There was no body damage, but I guess I bent a tie rod and broke some wheels and stuff. I didn't hit another car and I wasn't hurt. It WAS inconvenient on so many levels I don't even have the strength to relay them all here, but other than that, it could have been sooooo much worse!

This is my car, in North Hollywood Park:

So, I went to pick my car up last night. The guy was cool ... he has *helped* me before. He totally worked with me on the deductible and all. But I was shocked, SHOCKED, to see the check from the insurance company ... it was for almost $5000! I am truly in the wrong line of work. And the rental car bill was almost $1600! My insurance company is probably livid!

Well, for me, this accident actually really worked out. While I was driving the rental SUV I got to move some stuff around that is difficult with a Mustang. Plus, some of the stuff that they had to fix for the accident was going to have to be done anyway, like the brakes and replacing some very expensive tires. They even detailed it for me and it looks real nice.

As for me and the kiddo last night ... I would like to take him to the zoo or the forest or something, and those are CHEAP so that is always nice ... but I do work the ol' 9-5 gig, so couldn't do it yesterday. I did, however, have pizza and ice cream with him. I looked into movies, but there are no good children's movies out in theaters right now ... haha, he did inform me that Shark Tales comes out on DVD on Tuesday! I don't know how he knows this, but perhaps we can have a movie date at home next week. Someone suggested that I play videogames with him and let him win. Ha! Sad as this sounds, I don't have to LET him win. I suck at videogames, unless they are of the RPG variety. And besides, Spiderman 2, the ONLY game in his mind, is a single player game. But we did sit on nickjr.com for a long time playing games together. I could tell he was so happy, sitting on my lap and playing. Look, Mommy, look! Dora ... let's play this Dora game. He just kept snuggling up with me and once he kissed me so gently on the cheek, I almost didn't notice. He said he had a really good time when I put him to bed. I guess I have really neglected him during my black pit of depression. His big brother was home most of last week, so it's not like he didn't have anyone to play with or hang out with ... but I guess it's not really the same as MOMMY.

Today I suppose I should start looking around for housing. I know the eviction notice is coming any day. I could fight it, I haven't done anything wrong. I have lived here for almost 7 years and its funny that the case they have tried to build against me starts in November 2003 ... when the new managers came. I swear, I don't know why they hate me! But I need a bigger place and I hate confrontation so if the eviction notice I was warned of last week does show up, I just want to go. I heard a rumor of a house a couple miles from here for only $1000 a month ... and in LA, that is almost too cheap. Makes you wonder what exactly is wrong with that place. And an old employer has a house for about the same amount that is filled with crap that needs to go into storage ... a lot of work, but the perfect house in Lake Chatsworth. I need to keep bugging him. But even that cheap, I don't know how I'll afford to move .... guess it's time to start putting all that crap up on eBay that I'm usually too lazy to list.

Well, it's off to the ol' rat race. Everyone have a wonderful day.

Love to you,
~Suzy kiss

UPDATE:
I just got an email from my step-daughter in Nashville. This is what she did to me, as if I didn't feel old enough. But isn't my new granddaughter just precious?

Now I am actually going to try to stay off of this site for a few hours and actually get some work done today. Yay, me!
