Last nigt I went to the roller derby game, for the league I used to skate for (no name mentioned.) It sucked!!
Man I am gunna vent here, #1 This all girl derby started in 2001 in Austin, TX.. I didnt start untill Oct 2002, but it was still in the baby steps. ALl we ever talked about is a way to figure how we could get other states to hears about it, and start up an all girl derby league there..maybe one day play against them, well well well, needless to say I do not agree with the outcome of the league here, because I am no longer with them, and helping start a new league in AZ, going back to the roots of where it all started, but it really pisses me off that now these new leagues think they are the hot shit, and going around copyrighting everything that is not nailed down, shit, it was done before the though of derby was ever in there heads, and now it is all about polictics, and the rules, and turning all girl derby into a "real sport" fuck that. It is not a real sport, I am sorry. We want to be comapred to like X-games, like moto cross, BMX, or skateboarding...not really a sport, or like boxing.. something really viloent, and fun to watch, but with the entertianment of wrestling, no not cheesy, what I witnessed last night was cheesy. it is like the friggin 4H club on wheels, and that sucks. After that we went to go see an old friends band, that I used to watch when I was 15 years old...it is weird to see everyone "grown up" but look exactly the same...it amazing to think of the ways our paths have gone...
One more thing to bitch about while I am here:
Everyone says that the Arizona punk rock scene sucks, it does not suck, it is the people attitude that sucks..If you go to azpunk.com, and look at all the shows, and all the amazing local bands, there latest compulation is coming out soon, and that goes to show you right there the amazing talent we have right here in AZ. people are just lame.
