So I went on a mission today to find a tattoo parlour to work with before I go home.... But it was basically futile! I checked out two parlours (I only have found 5 parlours around here! The other three = I dislike one, and the other two are lost to me).
Anyway. First we checked out Genko. But he was pretty much booked solid. He had three openings before May, which he said would be enough time to finish my chest piece.... But honestly. It is not something that I want to rush. But the guys work, was awesome. Really great.... So I was still thinking about it... Just a one session tattoo though.... But all the available times were when I was working. So, blah. But I felt kinda uncomfortable in the shop. I think it was the smell. It didn't really smell like a normal shop.
I am SO fussy when it comes to tattoos. I really need to like the artist and feel comfortable and discuss the tattoo a lot. But considering the fact I will have the tattoo until I die, I don't need any negative inking experiences.
Next I checked out Sabado's place, Eccentric Tattoo. This doode is crazy famous apparently - I don't pay enough attention to the scene. He had international tattooing awards on display. And I loved, loved, loved his portfolios and REALLY REALLY want him to design a Hanya mask for me.... And there are open time slots available..... But the catch....... Each 2-2.5 hours session sets you back 800 dollars.
Yes. 800 dollars. At home, I would pay around that much for all the sittings for my chest piece!!! And I love my artist at home, he is fine and dandy and does great work!!
I know, it is ink that will always be on my body, so it is worth it, right?? But I cannot seriously justify that expense to myself. Really. I think is is wild that they charge you a 200 dollar booking fee. And then 600 dollars for the actual session.... The 200 dollar booking fee would be fine, IF it came off of the 600 dollar session fee. But it doesn't.... They add up. It is just wild. Argh. I don't know.
Mmm, it was nice to hear the sound of a tattoo gun again though. It has been awhile, a long long while. Haha.
Alright. Pictures, as usual.... Haha.

It's really good that you are picky about getting a tattoo and who does it. It's going to be there for the rest of your life. I'd be pretty picky too! (I do love makeup by the way.) And that cake looks far too cute to eat.
