So, blah, I don't want to keep last night's minor meltdown there. Feeling slightly better, didn't sleep well last night, but then took a nap today with a cat sleeping partially on my head.

'Walk the Line' was good. Johnny and June rule.

It's windy today...like so windy I looked up and saw dust clouds coming off the mountains.

Thank you, we did. In fact it was quite a good weekend on the whole. Hope yours was likewise.

So, I feel lame and useless right now, about my life, about myself and about my current job. I'm floundering and I don't know how to get out of it. And it's always nice when those things are pointed out to you via email, while you're stuck in someone else's house with nothing of personal comfort anywhere nearby.

I'm sorry to hear you're in a rough spot. ...Floundering... that's a perfect way to describe some things I've been feeling lately. I hope things turn around soon. smile

No tequila, but it was a fabulous Turkey Day, nonetheless.

Sorry to hear you're feeling blue. When I'm feeling like that, one of my best friends likes to remind me that "another day above ground is a fabulous day." Pithy but true.

So, did Thanksgiving at my friend Mike's. His roommate's family was over so the friend and family vibe was nice. Rawr_ima_monster also came and made a kickass turkey cake and an even more kickass carrot souffle.

I made a ton of some sweet ass garlic mashed potatoes that everyone seemed to like just fine. ARRR!!! And so endeth my cooking from scratch for the year.

I'm...

So, Saturday I went to the birthday party for my good friend Roberta's son Ian. He's two. She asked for my help in setting up the party (she's a wonderful single mom) and I was more than happy to help.

Little did I know I would be pretty much the only non-kid carrying person there. It turns out, lots of people have babies and children...

So, RandyPants tagged me with one of those '20 facts about you things. So, I guess that means I'm cool. Yay me. I guess I'll try to go like...all chronological.

1. In my first grade production of the history of America, I was chosen to be 'America' even though I had been out sick. My main line was "I think I can, I have many...

So, designing a video game is like...hard. Turns out there's all sorts of math and tables and values and integrating and balancing to think about...all at once. And it still has to be fun.

I've been working all weekend and my widdle frustrated head hurts.

However, I can say that when I was driving home from work at 3am last night, the nearly full moon...

Gray day...gray outside, gray on my friends list...gray in my underpants.*

*(Though the underpants in question are indeed gray, so I have not lost my flair with warshing my unmentionables.)

Take a drive baby up the coast, yeah highway 101
I'll pass Ventura and Santa Barbara too, just as fast as my motor runs
Gotta pocket full of memories, some happy and some are sad...

judas:
dude, how can you possibly be debating whether or not to see stryper?

go forth!
cineman:
I saw Stryper on the "To Hell With The Devil" tour in 1987...

and had smokes and drinks (!) with the lead singer and drummer (the two brothers) at the Holiday Inn bar afterwards. My bro knew them and they had given us VIP passes and whatnot to see the show, so I guess they felt comfortable letting down the "holier than thou" act around us.

Good times.

He sure did love those crinkly things... and fetching. In so many ways Aven was a dogcat. I'm glad he got to rest under the lemon tree. I buried my guinea pig under my mom's apple tree, and it reminds me of him.

So, Monday sucks. The reasons will follow at the end of this completist ramble.

So, my puffin was back in town for the holiday weekend. I love Halloween and scary movies and spooky crap and all that. Friday was spent sexing up in ways that boggle the mind. We spent Friday night watching scary movies from the comfort of an aerobed island. Saturday we saw...
