ah, how many times have I heard the matt roommate story...sigh, remeniscence.
It's really not that bad an idea, though there aren't so many local candidates that it makes much sense. So far, I think my chart's got it sorted...I've decided what questions I need to ask people and asked them and reacted to their responses by either returning communication or deciding they're on the bottom of the pile. I haven't had much positive feelings about any of the local people, and I just had like a 30 minute conversation with a guy from out of town, and I think he's basically the top candidate.
I guess if nothing else worked out from the few other possibilities I'm willing to continue considering, I'd be more than happy with this guy, from all that I can tell. I'm really not sure I'd even know any more if I actually met him in person, beyond if he was horrifyingly disfigured. He'll be in town sometime next week and said if I want to wait until we can meet he's cool with that, but I think ultimately that's screwing both of us over.
-He's got a test with the DGA or something at the end of January, and he brought up both paying me in advance and offering a deposit all on his own...I think it could work.

I was kidding (!!!) about my being old, and didn't mean to make any caveman implications about anyone (though kudos for the reference). It's just odd being in class with a lot of people who have a very different set of cultural references.
