So, I'm back from Hawaii. I had a great visit with my folks. As my dad mellows and I get more confident in who I am, it's so much easier to really talk and converse instead of being lectured to. His many health problems are troubling to see, but he still plays golf and gets around the best he can.

He also makes jewelry from shells and nuts he gets while beachcombing. His creativity in this regard amazes me.


I'm off to San Diego tomorrow for an extended-family Christmas weekend. Nothing like continuous family interaction to shake up the emotions. (Not in a bad way mind you, but I know I tend to throw a mental blanket over such things...*sigh*)
