So, as follows:

--A big writing project I was in charge of tanked. They chose a different writer. Beh. (Though I'm not shocked or distraught necessarily...ish.)

--There is also some long-term work turmoil that needs to be worked out...much consternation involved. But at this point I can't do much about it. (But isn't 'consternation' a really good word?)

--I got an email yesterday from the friend of mine who threatened to kill herself a while back. At the time, she went off her meds and everything spiraled badly. She's very bi-polar, manic-depressive. I hadn't heard from her in six months. Turns out she was in jail, for threatening to kill her former employers. She said she understood if I didn't want to be friends with her anymore. I haven't written her back yet, cause well...yeah...exactly. (And yes, there is more to this story that would spin your head counter-clockwise, but I shan't divulge it here or now. A little mystery makes me seem interesting!) [And 'no' I didn't have sex with her...ish...that would be too cliched a secret.]

--I got another email from a close friend of mine from high school. He's married with four kids. He just walked away from one company he formed to start another. Great guy...I talked to him last like 3 years ago. He lives in Reno. Strange the paths lives take...geez, I've known him for over 20 years. God, I'm old. I need to call him.

--That's it actually. Things aren't horrible by any stretch...more interesting to see how they all turn out at this point.
