So, Christmas was good. Picked up Trixel at LAX on Saturday. Expected terrible traffic, but none was to be had.
Had a nice evening with friends. Had to run out all superspy-like when I realized someone got me a gift that I hadn't expected. Oops. I can't abide by not reciprocating something, so we found a liquor store open for 30 more seconds and the Christmas Eve tequila saved the day.
Was also witness to the awesome coolness that is rawr_ima_monster. At my humble suggestion, he stayed up all night making four of the most fanfuckingtastic paintings for our hosts ever. See them on his journal.
Christmas day saw us drive down to Escondido to be with my extended family. More gifts were opened and we ate massive amounts of turkey and such.
We stayed the night and had breakfast with the family before returning to LA for selfishly cool Boxing Day shopping. Since Trixel and I hadn't gotten uber things for each other and finally realizing we're both simple folks with simple tastes, we went to Amoeba and bought each other big fat piles of discs. Quite nice really.
We each had a gift certificate at Barnes and Noble, so it was off to buy books. Then it was lots of good Mexican food and a quiet night of movie watching in our self-made tent of relaxation.
Took Trixel to the airport yesterday. Always a sad time, particularly since we were just relaxing into each other, so to speak. It's hard to say and do everything in 3 days when you won't see the other person for two months. Very frustrating.
Tomorrow night is Social Distortion with Rawr to ring out the old year all SoCal punk style.

I applied for a job in LA, and I really hope I get it. I used to not like LA at all, but now that I think about it, I'm really really sick of cold weather and snow.
