I spent the day putting together collectables for next weeks big Kickstarter release for 12 KILOMETERS.
While pulling out some limited edition DVD's I stopped to admire one of my favorite Grindhouse DVD covers.
I remembered how lucky I was to be able to convince one of my all time favorite artists Yasmine Saja to come up with an original concept for the variant cover. She had no real restrictions other than it should have a bunch of the characters from the different films in a scene together.
I always loved how the old Grindhouse films would create a poster depicting a scene that didn't exist in the movie. It was all about capturing the attitude of the movie, and finding a way to draw you into its badass characters.
Yas had submitted two ideas. The car scene stood out right away!
Did they steal the car?
Who was chasing them?
Was was Bailey so unconcerned in the passenger seat?
Was she shot?
All these questions flew through my head as I clenched my fists and yelled yes..yES....YES!
Over the next few emails I was able to see the masterpiece slowly come to life.
I love illustrators, and I love being able to collaborate with them!
Next week I will be offering up brand new illustrations as incentives from some amazing big artists! I can't wait to show you guys!
