Not much going on with me lately. Kicking around the car purchase in my mind with every spare moment. It's exhilirating and terrifying. That's a long time to be in debt.

My vacation is finally winding down, and I'm really excited to get back to work. 3 weeks is just a little too long, even though we were all pretty burnt out leading into it. I've gone past well rested this week and have crossed over into restless, so I'm ready to head back.

I'm still trying to work out the logistics of going to Toronto for the weekend (where I'm hoping to get the chance to roll with dogslife and photogrrl). I was thinking of going for both days, but the gf wants to go to the car dealership for test drives and haggling on Saturday afternoon. I'm torn.

Seeing as how I don't have anything really swanky to say right now, I figured I'd leave you all with an anecdote:

My father has always been very musical, and is an accomplished musician on a number of instruments. There was always music in the house, and he was very often the source of it.

One afternoon, when I was very young, he was playing guitar and singing in our living room. For whatever reason, it was bugging me (I was probably all of 3 or 4, and so this certainly isn't a critique of his musicianship), and so I asked my mother:

"Mom, why does dad play music all the time?"

She smiled warmly, and said: "Because he's a talented man."

I thought about this for a moment, and announced: "Well, I sure hope I don't grow up to be a talented man." biggrin

So, as always, be careful what you wish for!!!

dogslife:
I'm sorry, Dave. I can't make it out. I admit I've felt worse, but I'm in no shape for a trip downtown and a late night, nor is my throat fit for a conversation in a crowded room. I need fluids and rest.

Again, I'm sorry. My girlfriend just called asking if I was going and when I told her I wasn't she expressed great disappointment--"as long as you're not chickening out," she said. She said she's the type to chicken out and she didn't want me to do what she'd do. I assure you, I was sincerely looking forward to being a guy you met "on a porn site".

In good health I'm everything you take me to be in that glowing testimonial you wrote. When you get that car and trips to TO are a thing of whimsy I promise to come out and prove it.

I hope the show rocks your socks.
