I'm digging for fire.
I went out at lunch today to buy a couple of things. First and foremost, I wanted the DVD set of The Critic. Because, y'know... it's fucking hysterical. Also, any of the following CDs -
Rammstein - Sehnsucht
Slipknot - Iowa
Mighty Mighty Bosstones - Jacknife to a Swan
Talk Talk - any anthology
Roxy Music - any anthology
The Twilight Singers - whatever their album is
No dice on most of them. I did pick up Rammstein and was going to get Slipknot and Roxy Music but they were twenty-six dollars each. Before tax, no less!!! Now, I'll grant you, that this is in Canadian money, so that works out to about sixty-three cents for you Americans, but up here, that's a lot of maple syrup!!!
The Critic was up for a good fifteen bucks more than the other places would carry it, so I only walked out with the one CD, shaking my head at this store that can't be bothered to figure out what every other store in the province is selling these things for.
It sucks being an informed consumer sometimes. Almost as much as it sucks that the other stores didn't have copies in.
Amazon - here I come.
My days are, of late, uneventful. Be careful what you wish for.
We've almost finished watching through the Firefly DVDs. It physically hurts to consider that there are only two more episodes and then, barring a movie, that's it.
Seriously - have you seen the shit that networks broadcast these days??? And Firefly get pulled - what - because it's too awesome and it's unfair to all the other shows? Gah! Television: from hell's heart, I stab at thee!!!
I'd rant more, but you all know the drill by now. It's late, and I'm tired.
As always, the lot of you remains awesome. Have you taken the time to become friends with Lunna yet? That gal is so spiffy she threatens to outshine the very sun in the sky.

hmmm.
i don't think there is a difference between university and college. i think that in the united states, "university" is designated for colleges which also house masters degree programs.
i went to kenyon college. 'tis a four year college in rural ohio which has one of the best english departments in the country. very highly acknowledged school amongst those in the know (very tiny school, about 1,500 kids).
i also aplied to colgate university, where i also got in. which is a small (but not kenyon small, about 2,200 kids) in rural new york state.
no difference, really.
That deliciously poetic bit about Lunna vs. the sun tickled me. I will have to make her acquaintance.
