So I went out and wound up getting the DVD set with the complete series of The Tick (live action version), because the damned store didn't have The Critic in yet. Hopefully I'll track that bad boy down tomorrow.
The Tick has been thus far hysterical. It's great if you like camp, the absurd, or just guys in blue tights. And hey, who doesn't?
I finally picked up The Darkness' album, at the recommendation of... y'know... everybody in the world, although I have yet to take the shrinkwrap off. Still no luck tracking down The Twilight Singers, or a good anthology of Talk Talk or Roxy Music. I've also wanted to expand my library in terms of heavier music, but I couldn't find any of the stuff I was looking for (Slipknot, Rammstein). I may have occasion to need to write some stuff in the genre, so I'm doing my homework.
Funny Slipknot story - when I was in college, one of the guys I knew had a band called Slipnaught, which was, as near as any description fit, a delicious hybrid of rock and calypso. It was infectious. It was brilliant. It was a huge fucking confusion that we heard "Slipknot (so we of course thought Slipnaught) is playing a show with (heavy metal vixens) Kittie this week."
Okay, maybe you had to be there. It may not be that funny, but it still is, clearly, a story.
Anyways, I will get into my long-awaited (well, by LaDolceVita, the all-time snazziest SG member ever, anyways) rant about my top secret pet peeve, but not right now. Because it's late and I'm tired.
And just because I'm singling her out doesn't mean you don't all rock me like a hurricane. So don't go getting all pouty or anything.

the darkness = pure fun
rammstein = pure silly
slipknot = pure dumb
but that's just my opinion.
