Tonight I get to go to bed without setting the alarm clock for the first time in what seems like forever. You can't even imagine how desperately I need this. I actually get to do this again tomorrow night, although I should probably be at the office for at least a small part of the weekend. Maybe Sunday
The gf is out of town, and my big "while the cat's away" weekend is so far going to consist of a lot of laundry and cleaning up the apartment. Whee!!! I have offered a friend the use of my ability to carry and move things, as he and his charming fiance move into their first house together, although I'm not sure if they're going to need me. Actually, I think it's more likely an issue that he doesn't want me touchin' his stuff
It was supposed to be a boys' night out with some of the guys from work tonight, but that got cancelled (because not all of us have the luxury of not really being necessary this weekend). But we were just gonna go to the bad place again and squander our riches in foolish and irresponsible ways.
I really, really, REALLY want to hear the Twilight Singers album, because I keep hearing it's fantastic, but I'm convinced there isn't a copy to be found anywhere in the city. I might have to come up with an excuse for a quick road trip. (So photogrrl, if you are in need of another lunch date candidate to take in some Salad King, you let me know, mmkay?)
Anyways - exhaustion aside, it's been a really good week, and the pressure's been off somewhat. That's been good. I haven't been sleeping well for a bit, but I have a feeling I'll soon be in the position where I can genuinely relax for a while and regroup.
I want to extend a warm welcome to all those who've been gracious enough to accept my invitation to join my friends list, or who've invited me. I was sad for a bit when Dogslife joined the ranks and knocked everybody's avatars off my screen and I became a textie, but I've made my peace with that. (In case I need to clarify, I was sad about losing the avatars, not about him joining my list. He seems a splendid fellow and I urge you all to go and say hi.)
And the cool part is that you're all so neat.
So I hope everybody's made it in one piece (I'd originally typed 'one peace', which now that I think on it may not be the mistake I thought it was) to the end of another week, and have a spiffy weekend to look forward to. If anybody needs me, I'll be completely unconscious, but the money is in a small envelope on the bureau. Tip the driver, and for the love of God, don't eat all the pizza before I get some.
Ever have one of those moments when you had some really cool final point to throw in at the end of your journal and then you just totally blank on it? Argh. I HATE that.
And so does My Mom. And The Chinese.
PS - For those of you keeping track of the saga, the pad thai today was pretty freaking good. Not the best I've ever had there (they just don't lay on the flavour like they used to, it seems), but definitely in the "awesome" strata.

I was inspired after seeing Tegan's. I think it looks sexy...my roses will be small like that.

Thanks for the comment in my journal sweetie. I like your profile picture, it made me laugh. Don't get into any trouble while the gf's away.
