I had my eye surgery. It was the PRK procedure and not Lasik, so It's been a much longer recovery. Everyday my vision gets better. I'm finally starting to enjoy not needing glasses. WooooHoooo!

Work hasn't gotten any better and I really need to get a second job. This weekend I'm updating my resume and I'll start applying online for some things over the internet....

Everything at work has snowballed. It seems to be spiriling out of control. One of the problems with having debts is the inability to say fuck it and leave when a job conflicts with your ethics and or morals. That was a position I told myself I would never get into again, but here I am.

I rarely drink, but tonight I finished off half...

Having a good 4th of July weekend. I went to the Pepsi 400 race in Daytona last night. It was the first professional Nascar event I've ever been to. I liked it and the atmosphere around it. However, as far as racing goes, I think I prefer the amateur sprint races that I've gone to with friends that have raced in them. Maybe it's because...

Now that I've gotten past one of the most difficult times in my professional life, I'm ready to move on. I still have to let a couple of people go at the end of the week, but they are chronic troublemakers and they've been warned repeatedly. I'll give everyone several chances, but when I'm fed up and I tell you this is it then I...

I'm coming onto the hard part of being in management. Tomorrow I have to demote two of my District Managers to field level. Both have been with the company for 15+ years. Both have given their best years and efforts to the company. Both are in their mid fifties. However, the family company that they started with is now almost a billion dollar company, and...

I went to Silver Springs with my goddaughter(Caitlyn), her family and some of their friends. It was fun seeing Caitlyn and her friend reacting to the park. They loved the glass bottom boats and were amazed by the monkeys that they saw wild in the woods around the park.

While I love spending time with my goddaughter, it never fails that I'm broke and drained...

My goddaughter had her dance recital this Saturday. I found out that her dance teacher was one of the ones I had when I took dance at 8. Apparently he recycles his routines because she did one that I did way back. Whenever I go to one of these it makes me want to take some lessons (my early ones didn't take). I have no...

I call on Albertson's in Florida. They were sold to Cerebus, an investment group. Friday the change over became official. They started laying people off in the division office (where I work out of) by 9 am. Some of them were people who have worked their whole lives for Albertsons. The strain was awful. frown There is a major meeting scheduled for the 13th that will bring more changes. eeek

It just makes me look forward to going away for the weekend. I'm going to Silver Springs with my goddaughter and her family. I haven't been there in years. I understand they had to round up most of the monkeys that were left to go wild from the black and white Tarzan movies that were filmed there. They are some of the most vivid memories I had from the glass bottom boat rides as a kid.

As built up as Florida is getting I enjoy going into rural areas and see Florida as I remember it growing up. With so many people moving here this state has lost it's identity. It's almost one giant theme park. Even Key West is bright colors and neon instead of the fishing village I used to go to every summer while diving for rock lobsters (not just a B-52's song).

Well, like someone said, the only constant is change.
