Well, I decided that the weather was being a cruel bitch and gave up my plans for moving out a month early in favour of getting some proper winter attire. So I'm now snuggly decked out in my hawt zip-up sweaters and a well fit black London Fog jacket. It's plenty warm and has some well place pockets which lets me carry all the stuff I usually do without having to wear my belt cinched up to the last notch just to keep my pants from dropping.
Also in the name of luggage I ordered a sweet Timbuk2 messenger bag, because my laptop tote just wasn't cutting it; what with all the poetry and literary stuff I carry around these days.
But enough about all my purchases, since they only get me one step closer to never achieving my dream of total independence. Yeah, it's pathetic, but it's a sweet deal and I'd be fool to not make the most of it. Which is why I am gonna get me a nice downtown condo some time next yearish.
Local literary read was tonight, went out to hear some friends read their work and contemplate when I'll have something worth presenting. Open-mic night is an entirely different creature, I can read whatever I want, but the lit-night is a bit more serious. One day. Either how, as per the usual we went out for beers and such afterwards and I met a few (okay one) new faces, but a good time was had by all.
On the train ride back, my rocking-out to The Moon & Antarctica was interrupted by the girl next to me suddenly leaning over and asking me if I ever wanted to tear down the advertisements on the train. I told her I did and we started talking about societal systems and what-not; me being the devil's advocate (we're tight like that) mostly just to keep conversation interesting. Then just as I started to get into the fact that this wasn't the sort of usual say-two-words-and-shut-up sort of conversation her stop came up and she left. A shame, I should have gotten her number or something. It's a smaller city than it seems, I'm sure I'll run into her again some time. Too bad my brain won't confirm whether she was wearing glasses or not. Normally I'd recall (I think she was) but I ended up taking off my glasses at one point to clean a smudge and so any glasses memories are linked to that and can't be trusted.
I remember stuff visually, which makes it hard for me to get lost, but having poor eye-sight (not really) makes for some very strange memories. I think it's time for me to get sleep. I ate some beef tonight to make up for all my 'good' vegetarianism, which left me stripped of iron and very fatigued as of late. Hopefully I'll be energized and ready to tackle booooooring HTML conversions tomorrow.
Much love, hope your weekend starts off right.
