Open mic night tonight it went great. I got to read some slightly older stuff, but I'm more focused on reading effectively these days, which isn't to say I'm ignoring writing, just that what I'm writing is shit and I know it. Yeah.

Spent the night ogling my crush, even tho I'm calling her just a friend now, in order to keep myself from going totally overboard. The history of things between us has been kinda long and maybe complicated. Suffice to say, I missed many opportunities and now I'm content to just be her friend. So long as I can watch her mouth when she smiles, because it's just beautiful.

But enough yammering on about that. Went for beers afterwards, tried Newcastle, and was pleasently surprised. If you can get it, I'd recommend it. Mostly just idle chatter and the slow dismantling of a poor plastic laser gun that was supposed to launch discs... but didn't. I never realized how violent my crush really is... tho the conversation I heard between two guys was
"Hey, that girl's really hot."
"Yes, but she'll hurt you."
But I am undaunted. I say bring the pain. Anyone who is that cute and wears no makeup is well worth any scars, bruises or surgeries. Hopefully many.
