I made a failed attempt to see Mos Def last night. Show was supposed to start at 10. Great, I figure, because I had other shows to go to at around 11:30 or so.
About every 5 minutes, the announcer guy would get on stage and say something along the lines of "are you ready for Mos Def?" and generally get everyone all riled up for.....nothing.
I finally said to hell with it and left at 11:20. Ended up at Longhi's, where the best funk/jazz band I've heard in a long fucking time was playing. Tried going to the Wave, but the crowd there was insane, so I got food and went home at that point.
