Well it happened again.. but this time it wasn't because she wasn't there.. it was because it was national silence day and she was participating so she couldn't talk. Damn I suck at picking days..

*I could be*
*Not in the real near future*
*Down*
*Ohh yeah.. tons*

They would probably cease.. hence there would be no need for them.. but the independant groups would have to sell on such a large scale that there would be distributers forming.. and then they would turn into labels.. and the whole cycle would start over again...

1. yes
2. i'm gonna help hubby on his short that shoots soon
3. wish i had more
4. haven't we all???

if everyone only listened to independent music it would finally force the big guys to clean up their act. at least i hope it would.

i haven't seen ghost world, but i've heard it's great. we borrowed it from someone once and it wouldn't play in our player. 8 1/2 reference? nice!

all i hope is this:

when i see the sky fall and the tides turn, i will be holding my darling dear and we will be laughing joyously. and when it all collapses, something will remain sturdy - our love and affection. and we will walk above the floods and soar through the flaming sky to a new dawn. it will be a cotton love,...

the problem is that she is not directly a friend.. she is friends with my best friend.. so i have met her.. but i haven't hung out with or really conversed with her that much.. so it makes it hard just to rendomly walk up to her.

today is my brother's birthday. happy birthday pete. he's 16.

one day you are sitting. you are sitting at a bus stop and you are thinking about your decisions. you are thinking about your reasons and your limitations. but then you realize there shouldn't be such things as limitations. and you realize reason isn't important either. and you sit there waiting for your ride and...

Oohh, people of the earth,
listen to the warning the seer he said
beware the storm that gathers here
listen to the wise man!

Actually Prophet Song is one of my favorites too. It was one of the first Queen songs I heard (other than the essentials that you hear at Sports games and Boh. Rhapsody). The section in the middle with all the crazy vocal overlays (I'm assuming they're using an echoplex, as was Brian May's fancy) is so characteristic of Queen.

who's voice are you in love with?

---------------------------------

who's fingers make you gush?

---------------------------------

who's hair makes you lick your lips?

---------------------------------

who's eyes make your soul burn?

---------------------------------

who's smile makes your heart soar?

okay, time on my hands, so I'll post again...

1. I am in love with Paul Weller's voice.
2. If you've ever been to any physical therapy, there is nothing like the way those people can massage your muscles so deeply--extreeeeemely relaxing!
3. Forgive me, but I always had a sweet spot for Harry Connick Jr.'s hair. I know, I know, wallowing in lameness....
4. eyes--the eyes of a guy I dated about 16 years ago (yikes! my age is showing!--especially cuz I was in college then!) who, still, to this day, can burn right through to my soul when he looks at me. powerful stuff.
5. my little 8 year old nephew has a smile that makes me melt. he is so innocent and full of love.

sigh....I miss kid607...he's away

THE DREAMER'S PHILOSOPHER

in this standing, here, we pass by our own lit gaze. flurries of multitude, reduced to a common simplicity. gathering thoughts and alibis, we shudder at the thought of man. worst yet, we shake in disbelief of the mortality of man, of the race, the inconsistent race. the eternal race to the finish. what have we to prove? consistent meditation, love-inspired, spiraling...

ahh, the beauty of minimalism...

i watched a documentary on philip glass' "einstein at the beach" today. what a magnificent work! 4 hours, no intermission. an opera to redefine opera! needless to say, i was quite impressed with the clips i saw. but what's entirely excellent is the idea of minimalism in itself. as a little side note, i love playing the piano and there...

what are you still doing here?

3 notes.. as long as its not a cell phone ring. yeah.
kid_607_evil_ins:
Terry Riley "Requiem for Adam", first movement.

Listen to those same five pitches reharmonize forever! Please skip the second movement: it's a sad exploration of '80s synth crap.

I saw this piece performed by Kronos Quartet. It's dedicated to KQ violinist, David Harrington and his family at the loss of his 16 year old son, Adam.

It will make you cry.

Talk to blacklisted on here abotu Seattle. Tell 'im 607 sent ya!

Glad you *two* are doing well.

i finally picked up a Pavement record today. i grabbed "Slanted & Enchanted". i can't believe it has taken me this long to get Pavement into my collection. i have been a huge Sonic Youth fan for a while now, and i always knew Pavement was a group i would love. i figured they would be somewhere between Sonic Youth and the Pixies and that...
