Well, my weekend was quite uneventful except for this evening. I went to this great coffee shop, Slave To The Grind (great name eh?), with two of my good friends. We had some of the best coffee talk I have had in a while and it continued at the chinese restaurant we hit afterwards. Nothing like some raunchy, honest sex talk with a couple sweet girls.

Oh, if any of you dig opera, recommend some good ones to me. I am just starting to check out some opera and I borrowed Mozart's The Magic Flute from someone at work. Any recommendations out there?

Wishing you fun till ya flip,
Alex

yeah, rush tickets are great. they're super cheap and you never know where your seat is going to be. the first time i got rush tickets was for beethoven's 9th at the dorothy chandler pavillion in los angeles, which is huge. i just assumed that the tickets sucked so i walked up to the top balcony but my seat wasn't there. turns out my seat was just a few seats behind front and center. it was brilliant.

i love opera singing, but i'm not a big fan of whole operas themselves. of course, maybe just need to listen to a few more and give them a chance. i love my 3 cd maria callas collection though.

la boheme by puccini is another one that everyone loves. it has some great great songs. and it's about starving young artists in love and stuff.

don giovanni, on the other hand, is about a guy who tries to force himself on a girl, then kills the girls father when he hears her screams and tries to rescue her. then gets dragged down into hell by the father at the end after he invites the father's statue to dinner.
