I can't believe Jam Master Jay was shot and killed. This is truly a loss. Run-D.M.C. did more for hip-hop than possibly imaginable. He will be sorely missed.

R.I.P. Jam Master Jay. What you did for music will not be forgotten.

you think you're going to live your life alone
in darkness and seclusion... yeah, I know
you've been out there and tried to mix with those animals
and it just left you full of humiliated confusion
so you stagger back home and wait for nothing
but the solitary refinement of your room spits you back onto the streets
and now you're desperate and in need...

QUESTION FOR TODAY:

Who are "They"?
VIEW 14 of 14 COMMENTS
kingskottie:
"they"? the people who remind us of why it's good to be "different".

the story this week is true. it sucked to have my dog run over. i left out the best part. it was my school bus who did it. the dog was a nut BTW.

thanks so much for yr comments on my journals. i'm hoping to get published some day... so far the fiction is still just a hobby.

i wish i could find a good way to advertise in the boards to visit my journals for more feedback.
raven:
i watched mullohand drive or however you spell it.
who are "they"? all those silly little sheep

A new pic for you all to salivate at.

Nice contributions last entry. I didn't expect you all to put in song lyrics, but it turned out for the better. Solisis' DMX entry was most fitting. Maybe we'll have to start having the 'ol "theme day" here.

Question for today:

How do you survive?

yeah, it sucks. a condition exacerbated by the times when i venture out into public places like shopping malls ... with the musak and the fluorescent lighting and the drab people ... *shudder*

This is not consistent with your theme. But Eggers' new book is out, my roomie reads us exerpts and it is really good from what I have heard...just...um...telling you....and...stuff...

Lay down your lucky hand, upon her heart
morning becomes a kite, tangled up in stars
laugh in the midday light, and leave - it behind
move out into his sundry eyes, and sing, unwind

Hang down your lucky head, a sign to time
morning becomes the sun, for the dandelion
sooner than the midday light, we leave behind
love is out into the sundry...

NY. So, what this means is you probably got to see Muzz, Will, Vernon, and Cory in tiny little venues before they hit it big. Dammit.

Hello all. It's been a long time. Don't think I've forgotten about any of you. I have been mighty busy the past couple of weeks. I miss you all and can't wait to hear your stories.

Discovered Susana Baca today. Truly a great musician. A voice like no other. Her "Eco De Sombras" album is magnificent.

Gary Numan "Cars"? I really want to engage in...

Wow. "Cars" really *would* be a great song to engage in some lovin' to. Heh...never thought of that one. It's so geeky it just might work. "Baby, forget about Miles...let's put on some Numan this time."

Still wondering what your take on Mulholland is. This was such a polarizing movie for people I know I always ask when someone says they dug it. Always interested to hear about others interpretations of it.

joscelyne:
LoL I think I told you once before, but Gary Numan scares the bajeezus out of me. Rather interesting concept you got there though, Alex wink

I am very concerned about the future of this country. America's situation is awful right now. We have so many problems going on domestically and internationally. The shit is hitting the fan and busting it up.

We are going to strike Iraq no matter what the U.N. says or does. President Bush is determined to lead thousands of US troops into a senseless battle. The...

And with that answer I slammed my fist against the pillar. Why was this the way the leaves had to fall? I sat down defeated by my own tantrum. There I sat, alone, for three days and four nights. I didn't make a sound. Was this what fate was all about? Was fate about having nothing in the end? What was hope for? Was hope...
