Thanks for all your support on my writing. This is something new for me, so I welcome any criticism.
I have put up a bare-bones version of Splinters & Candy, my website that will eventually house everything I do. From music to art to writing, it will be the place where you can find all of my work. Unfortunately I only have writing up now,...

I have always been jealous of her.
The way she glides with such elegance.
The way she looms over me in domination.
Simply, the way she works.
Yes I am envious.
She is truly wicked.
She is the jewel of perfection,
an exact copy of the ideal.
She lives comfortably in a world
where nothing goes wrong,
and never loses taste.
Her height, like a...

You once told me that your life could be summed up in a listening of Samuel Barber's "Adagio for Strings". You told me this six days before Mom died. Now you won't come near your phone. I call you day after day soaking up some of my own tears, hoping for a chance to get through to you and give...

This is all happening way too fast. Passing the Homeland Security Bill is about the worst thing this country could do. Just watch how quick we lose our rights.
Am I proud of a country that houses a government that will completely infringe upon our rights? A country that will whore its people in order to earn an extra buck? Not one bit.
We still...

I know what you mean.. this is to much way to quick to be considered a rational thought by the government.. they are doing everything because they think it will make people more at ease.. but it won't.. its not going to stop people outside our country from doing things.. it is going to stop people inside from doing things.
I vote we get everyone together and move somewhere that the government can't do anything... i say the UP.. nothing happens up there.

I close my eyes to drift away from this colorless constipation. Slipping into my mind of creation, I stop dreaming and start indulging in my ideal perfection. The colors fill my mind and spread their wings across a once shadowed canvas. My fingers dip into a pool of crimson and from there I proceed to follow the footsteps of those before me, adding to a...

Our choices can be influenced by so many things. The real trick is knowing when to listen to others and when to go with your instinct. I have held back for a while now and I am stuck. I am currently attending school and I am enjoying it for the most part, but I am not like everyone else who needs college to become a...

Well, I have been absent from SG the past couple days, but I am back after a rather aggravating injury. My back managed to completely throw itself out and I have been laid up the past two days because of it. Don't know how it happened, but I could barely move at times. A major annoyance.
However, I did get to spend the past couple...

Primary interest: Making it to Winter break without losing my calm and not dropping the ball. Long term: Having a job i love and get excited to go to everyday. Even if it means worrying about getting my heat shut off periodically or eating ramen noodles every day.

I wondered what had happened to you...sorry to hear about that, hope you're recovering nicely. Yes, we must share a damn fine cup of coffee (& a slice of apple pie...is that what Agent Coop always raved about?) sometime...
I haven't seen Twin Peaks in ages...I wish I had them all on tape. I remember seeing it when it first aired, I was a sophomore in HS. Me & a few of my friends were all "Peaks Freaks."
Mulholland Drive would have made a fantastic TV series, too bad it was too weird for the suits...oh well, still made an amazing film...
Answer: To get published. Somewhere, somehow.
I have a writing sample up in my journal. See what you think. Be brutally honest...

Imagine a scene in a story where a man jumps up and hits his head on something. Something he cannot see. Curious as to why the sky eluded him, he looks up and tries to make out what could have been above him. The object is invisible, but he can feel it. He tries to make out the contours of the object when he realizes...

Everything is relevant to an extent.. you just have to know how to see what is relevant about it.
I really want to be in a band like Cibo Matto or Stereolab or Tortoise.

"Map the doors of perception onto and into a new metaphor - the frequencies of perception become a transduction mechanism. It's a voodoo economics of the sound waves rolling across the basilar membrane. A collabrative filtering of the input and output flowcharts guiding the architecture of the scene. Feel the fragments... The reflection on the surface of a shattered mirror is never whole, no matter...

yo. i hate genres. some ho-hum artists do fit into genres but only because they dont experiment but most artists with a truly unique vision wont allow themselves to get too comfortable with a certain medium/genre.

Although saddened by the loss of Jam Master Jay, I had a nice long weekend. On Halloween I saw Medeski Martin & Wood down at the Hammerstein Ballroom. DJ Spooky's "Optometry" opened (Spooky, Matthew Shipp, William Parker, Guillermo Brown, and Daniel Bernard Roumain) along with the incredible Smokey and Miho. Both acts were incredible and I had planned to see Smokey and Miho again on...

I think that violence should be censored from children more than sex. I never understand why some parents freak over some nude scene but still let their kids watch tons of gore. What kind of message does that send? It's twisted.
You're right, this site is a godsend of sorts...for anyone who is re-adjusting to a social environment, I think. I'm back in my hometown after a long absence and I feel like I'm starting over in so many way, esp. socially. I've been working on making new friends but it's hard, of course. This place is valuable to me, in that I can meet cool people quicker than in real life...but I still need to meet more people in real life...so it's not a real substitute, just a hold-over of sorts, you know? Although if I get involved in some of the SG gatherings it might become more...
So....no comment on my Mulholland Drive interpretation? Just curious to see what you thought of it...

i like the cheez doodles. sometimes the cheap crappy brand is better. like mac n cheese- for me, the worse the packaging on the box, the better its gonna taste.
i can't really "go get the girl", because i have a boyfriend. i just want to be friends, but i have a hard enough time doing that with attractive women.
i've never had crunchy cheez doodles, but you know what is good?? cheese balls!! mmm. cheesy crunchy goodness in a tin.
